The Role
As a Railroad Superintendent, you're the boots-on-the-ground leader overseeing multiple crews and job sites. You’ll manage construction and maintenance projects from planning to completion — delivering work that’s on time, on budget, and above spec. You’ll be the point person for coordination with clients, internal teams, and railroad contacts. Your territory will be multiple states sometimes spanning multiple regions.

What You’ll Do
Oversee field operations, including manpower, equipment, and materials
Ensure jobsite safety, efficiency, and quality — every day
Communicate project goals and expectations to supervisors and crews
Track progress, solve problems, and keep things moving
Represent Track Tech with professionalism to clients, inspectors, and rail partners
Support scheduling, budgeting, and reporting with the leadership team
What You Bring
5+ years of experience in rail construction or maintenance (Class I or contractor)
Strong leadership skills and field management experience
Solid understanding of FRA rules, railroad safety, and construction best practices
Ability to travel regionally and work on-site
CDL-A preferred

Key Responsibilities
Safety
It is your responsibility to work safely and oversee the safety of your work groups.
Accidents, incidents, or injuries are not acceptable at Track Tech Inc.
Each decision will be made by first determining if there is a safe way to accomplish the task.
JSA's will be completed each time work is performed.
Appropriate PPE will be worn as per our handbook and rules. Additional PPE can always be worn if deemed necessary and safe. This includes all customer facility requirements.
All incidents will be immediately reported to your supervisor and HSE manager with an incident form created in Vector.
Any unsafe action will be stopped immediately and reported to a supervisor. Everyone has stop-work authority regarding safety.
Quality
Track Tech Services' goal is to perform top-quality work for our customers. All FRA regulations must be followed, and customer requests and issues must be addressed promptly and correctly. Quality must be right the first time.
Projects will be executed with the highest regard to quality and customer satisfaction, including safety standards (FRA) and customer expectations.
Project scopes must be understood and communicated for our team to be successful.
Pictures of completed projects must be uploaded into Vector, with a sign-off from the employee in charge of the work.
Punch lists will be created in Vector for any identified issues, to be managed and signed off on as they are resolved.
Responsible for final inspection and overall quality of each project.
Financial
Protecting the company’s financial performance is critical for the success of Track Tech Inc. and our ability to continue providing world-class service.
Execute projects in the most cost-effective manner while satisfying the project scope and customer expectations.
Costs must be scrutinized to remain competitive; get multiple quotes and consider various options when procuring materials and services.
Projects must be executed within the provided budget. If not, it must be communicated promptly to explore alternate options.
Additional work requests will be communicated and signed off by the customer before beginning.
Daily logs must be reviewed regularly (at least weekly) and updated to reflect accurate work done. This includes time, equipment, notes, and pictures.
Planning/Communication
Planning is crucial to the success of Track Tech Inc. Although plans may change due to environmental factors, having a plan is essential, and it must be communicated effectively to all involved, especially employees.
All projects will be planned out in advance to meet all needs and communicate to the teams. This includes equipment rentals, materials, manpower, and leadership.
A planning meeting for the upcoming week must take place by Thursday of the prior week.
Responsible for coordinating with all subcontractors to ensure work quality and that the job site is left clean.
Communication is key to ensuring smooth project execution, including inspections and daily logs.
General Expectations
Track Tech’s success depends on teamwork, effective communication, flexibility, and seeking opportunities to help the overall organization.
Leadership is expected to conduct themselves professionally, both with customers and peers.
Project leadership owns the project and must be on-site, supporting the workforce, resolving issues, communicating progress, and driving the project forward safely and efficiently.
Resources at Track Tech are shared among teams, divisions, and locations.
Each employee must learn the critical components of their position. If unsure, ask for direction and training.
Track Tech equipment is for company business only.
Travel is required. Field superintendents typically travel 20-70% of the time.
